About Pear Desktop
A free and open-source way to enjoy YouTube Music on your computer.
Pear Desktop is a desktop app client that plays YouTube Music on Windows, macOS and Linux. It gives your music a home of its own, away from a crowded browser, and adds helpful tools that make listening better every day.
What Pear-Devs believe
Music apps should be simple, fast and respectful of your time. That is why Pear Desktop blocks ads, skips sponsor parts and lets you download songs for offline listening. Every feature is a plugin you can turn on or off, so the app stays light and works the way you want.
Open-source and free
Pear Desktop is open-source and released under the MIT license. This means anyone can read the code, learn from it, suggest ideas and help make it better. There is no price and no account needed to install it. The whole project lives in the open on GitHub.
Built by the pear-team
Pear Desktop is maintained by the pear-devs, a group of open-source volunteers, with help from people around the world. If you enjoy the app, a star on GitHub is a kind way to say thanks.
A note on names
Pear Desktop is an independent project. It is not made by, endorsed by, or connected to Google or YouTube in any way. YouTube and YouTube Music are names owned by their owner and are used here only to explain what the app does.
Want to help?
You do not need to be a coder to take part. You can report a bug, share an idea, help translate the app or tell a friend. Head to the GitHub page to get started, or read the FAQs to learn more.
